5 Daily Mindset Habits of Successful Business Owners

As a business owner, it can feel like our minds are in a continuous loop of idea-generating, problem-solving, and decision-making that is difficult to turn off and get a good night’s sleep. We are also frequently fighting off negative self-talk, doubt, and fear.
I have been an entrepreneur for 20 years and have used just about every mindset trick and tip I could find to manage all of these thoughts while bolstering my productivity, positivity, and resilience. I do things like state affirmations, visualize my success, and keep a gratitude journal.
Here are 5 more daily mindset habits which have also helped me with my overall life balance to prevent burnout and support my mental, physical, and emotional health. They can help you do the same!

1. Find your rhythm!
I have never been a morning person. I discovered that if I scheduled my first appointment of the day for 10am, I was much more rested and less stressed. I still wake up early, but I don’t have to jump in the shower and rush around to get ready. I also now meditate, and sometimes take a short nap, in the late afternoon. And then I work for as long as I want at night after my family has gone to bed. I live at a pace that honors my body’s natural rhythm. Of course, when my kids were little, I had morning responsibilities for them, so this hasn’t always been possible. But as the kids and I got older, I realized one of the perks of being a business owner is the freedom to work on my own schedule. When I first started doing this, I felt guilty I wasn’t working a standard 8–5 schedule. I felt the need to explain to my husband I was working hard…just not at the same time he was at his office job. I didn’t realize how much I needed this for my happiness and for my creativity until I gave myself permission to try it. I encourage you to find your own rhythm and make it part of your daily mindset habit to honor your mental, emotional, and physical health.
2. Clear your head!
